THE FINEST ARABIA IN THE WORLD

‘Good things necessarily come of

Loving and talking

We prune a forest, be aware of those waking

We are up against a hurricane

Not like plants for sure, but as humans

Don’t be afraid, don’t be daunted by the waves

‘The Finest Arabia in the World’ was the masterpiece of Turgut Uyar, one of the three great poets of the Second New Wave and a pioneer of post-Republic Turkish poetry. The work has now been taken to the stage under the direction of Mirza Metin and with the performance of Cem Uslu.
