My artistic practice deals with survival, labor, visibility, and urban life.
I have been unemployed for 360 days.
I refuse invisibility.
I refuse the idea that artists should survive only through sacrifice.
I refuse unpaid “opportunities,” exposure, and emotional blackmail disguised as community.
I am looking for work.
Not charity.
Not pity.
Work.
This performance exists because survival has become political.
I was born in Kurdistan in 1980 and grew up in Istanbul. I am a writer, director, educator, and puppeteer currently based in Berlin, where I have been living for the past two years. Before that, I lived in Cologne for a period of time.
I have been working in theatre since 1995. Over the years, I have received awards and nominations in writing, directing, acting, lighting design, and stage design. I have extensive experience in both the creative and technical fields of theatre.
Unfortunately, I have been unemployed for a long time and I can no longer make a living from my artistic work. For this reason, I am looking for any fair and legal job where my labor will not be exploited and where I can earn a dignified living under German labor laws.
What can I do?
Almost anything related to theatre and performance arts.
In addition, I am available for:
- Barista and café work
- Kitchen work
- Cleaning
- Handcraft and manual labor
- Heavy physical work
- Studio assistance
- Gallery work
- Exhibition installation
- Art handling
- Warehouse work
- Translation
- Dog sitting
- Freelance creative work
I'm a quick learner. I can do almost any other kind of job you can think of.
